UT sTARTUp Lab at sTARTUp Day

sTARTUp Day is about to begin and we are ready for it.  We are excited to bring you two pitching rounds and to give you an opportunity to hear and witness revolutionary, innovative, amazing ideas at Pitching stage on 30th of January. Besides pitching events we are also at the Community area, so come and say hi to us.   

Kaleidoskoop Finals- on Pitching stage at 10.30 on January 30.

Kaleidoskoop is the biggest students pitching competition in South-Estonia. At sTARTUp Day, 10 teams who have made it to the finals will step on the stage and present their business or project ideas to the panel of judges. The best teams will receive awards - tickets to TechCill business festival, financial award from Tartu City Government and special awards form sTARTUp Lab! Also one team will get the chance to pitch at  STARTER finals on the same day. Kaleidoskoop Best teams will be awarded before STARTER Pitching at 15.30.


The teams will pitch on the following order:

  • LunchToGo - Eco-friendly food boxes.
  • Münt - Eco-friendly toothpaste tablets.
  • DLC - App that presents landcover changes in a user-friendly way.
  • CommuniCare - Volunteers service for care homes.
  • VOOK - Scanner for monitoring changes in skin formations.
  • Spectra&Mass - Self sampling blood test kit.
  • SafeCharge - Smartphone charging lockers.
  • Vapour Therapy - Healing herb vapour experience. 
  • Ropotty- Online potty training programme and rent of accessories for parents.
  • WATSON (former RDV) - Software that gives recommendations for a healthy lifestyle based on blood test results.


  • STARTER Pitching-  on Pitching stage at 15.30 on January 30.

    STARTER is a business development program designed by 8 universities. In STARTER Finals, the six best STARTER program student teams from all over Estonia will present their business ideas to the pannel of judges. Teams pitch for the STARTER of the Year award and for the tickets to the Arctic15 - the most effective matchmaking startup event in the Nordics and Baltics. STARTER is financed by European Social Fund.


    The teams will pitch on the following order:

  • AdZillah - We are building the device and web app to make easy to run indoor banner ads on screens and gather statistics about emotions that people had looking at that ads, in order to help our customers to improve their ads.
  • BinFree - BinFree is a doorstep service that aims to help out people to return their
    bottles to the deposit system without hassle and engage in a more
    sustainable lifestyle at a low cost.
  • newHorizons - newHorizons is an empowering program for schoolgirls from rural areas in developing countries.
  • Recovery Companion - Recovery Companion is a health application, that precisely matches them for support and mentorship to empower them take control of their journey and navigate the healthcare system better.
  • io_developers- Our product ZoomX is an All-in-One eyeglass, controlled via mobile app, that allows customers to continuously adjust vision on objects, as they wish.
  • Second team will be selected during the same day at Kaleidoskoop pitching competition!

  • sTARTUp Day is the biggest festival in the Baltics, bringing together startups, traditional entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and students. The aim of the event is to connect startup-minded people and celebrate entrepreneurship in the smart city of Tartu.
